  • M340ix 2020 Map 4 E20 log review please

    Hi,

I'll try again and hope for a review this time as I didn't get a response last time.

    Now I run map 4 with 93 (98 Sweden) e20 mix.

The car got MST intake and Remus race opf-back.

The first pull I think the car is still adapting as it is the first time I am testing the e20 mix, the second pull felt better, how do you think it looks?

You're getting some minor timing corrections but otherwise the log looks pretty normal.

      Hey Steve,

Thank you for your review, I also noticed the small timing corrections, I always strive for perfection and really wish to get rid of them.
What could this be due to, do I need new spark plugs?

The car has about 17400 miles on it.

        Hi,
Did two new runs today and really don't like how the log turned out, please have a look and let me know if it's something I can do to make it better?

        Really appreciate the support!

Timing corrections are typically due to insufficient octane. These aren't too bad but lower FF to 45 and do another log.

            Hey Steve,

            Thanks for the support.

Did as you suggested and changed FF to 45 and ran a new log, you can clearly see that the car is adapting on the first pull but then I think the rest looks really clean.

Plaes have a look and see what you think? Should I consider to go E30, to boost the octane a bit?

            Have a great day.

A few minor timing corrections but I don't see any issues. Trims are fairly high so you won't be able to add much more ethanol.

                Hi Steve,

Out of pure curiosity, I tried mixing in a bottle of Lucas oil octane booster (15oz) into a full tank of 98. No E mix.

Did some log pulls, how do you think they look?

Then I wonder if I can run booster in combination with E mix or should I avoid that combo?

That looks pretty good, a couple minor timing corrections up top but nothing to worry about.

I run that combo frequently...nothing wrong with it but trims are fairly high so I'd only add a gallon or two of E85 to a full tank of premium.
