Wow...that is a LONG log! What is there looks fine. Your trims are maxed quite a bit which I am kind of surprised about on Map 2. Think you should try a Map 3 and see how it looks, unless you are content with where you are.

Now on your log - you do a bunch of back to back pulls. That is not a good idea for a couple of reasons. 1. you are here asking if the logs look safe. What if they didn't? You ran it over and over which would have put your engine at risk! 2. Look at your temp fields...particularly the transf field. This is the intercooler coolant temp and is showing you how hot your turbos are getting. Normally you don't want to see this above say 135 - 140. In fact you started this monster log over 160 so surprised it wasn't even hotter by the end of the log.

When you post back, just do one or 2 pulls and then go back to map 2. If you want to do lots of back to back full throttle pulls, consider upgrading your heat exchanger. BMS has one that is very popular in the Q50 community.

It was around 60 degrees outside at the time so i was thinking i would be in the clear as far as temps and heat soak goes. Apparently i was wrong and will be ordering a bigger heat exchanger today. As far as the length, i was under the impression we wanted multiple pulls back to back for the most amount of data, and also to see if temps would be climbing (like you mentioned). So for example i do a single pull and everything is great, and everyone would be telling me "youre fine nothing to worry about" but in this example we can tell my temps are climbing and will need a bigger heat exchanger

I uploaded two logs, One of them starts with map 2 and ends with 3...The second log is just map 3, Could you take a look at that?

and could you also elaborate more about the fuel trims? im new to this..

      Thank you!

The other thing you got me concerned about is my transf temps... It seems my intercooler coolant temps are constantly at around 160, as that appears to be "normal" operating temps for my car... even when not running pulls... I suppose the good thing is they dont seem to climb at all... just hovers around 160ish

*edit* and now that im looking at other peoples logs... why would this appear to be so high? It hovers around 160 ALL the time, including idle... but it never appears to go above 165

*edit #2* So after my car sitting for several hours, in ambient temps around 60.... my transf temps are 160 when i start the car...even though my engine coolant temps, and oil temps drop to 100... Something has to be wrong here.

Yeah, something is strange with that transf field on your car. What firmware version are you on? Regarding the logging, would rather see one long 3rd gear pull and into 4th gear than multiple short pulls.

So yea, woke up this morning with 65 degree ambient temps and started the car to a 176 degree transf temp, and that was after sitting 8+ hours... So naturally we know it couldn't possibly be accurate. Drove around for a little bit just casually around town, stayed out of boost for the most part and temps stayed at 177. It wasnt until after a few short WOT pulls, (and i do mean short) that the temp dropped to 175 ... boy am i ever confused.

            firmware says 50/9//5

And what did you mean by my trims being maxed, is that a good or bad thing? As I mentioned I I'm new to this. I'm not sure if you realized this but the log you looked at had runs on map 2 AND map 3.

could you take a look at my map 3 log specifically? I posted a link but didn't upload it. (The one uploaded was maps 2 AND 3)

If you need me to upload it as an attachment I will

The map 3 portion looks healthy.

Trims – this is measure of fuel delivery capacity utilization. 44 is the max value. If you see constant values at 44, that means you are our of fuel delivery capacity and risk Air Fuel Ratio going too lean. In your case, even thought I see a lot of max trims values, your AFR is staying at a healthy level. See link below for explanation on most of the fields applicable to Q50/Q60 platform.

Map 4 may be a bit much. Trims are maxing out at times forcing you lean and timing isn't as good.

But higher octane gas would solve that issue with timing?

Also, Im a little confused on my afr... Even though my trims were maxed, it looks like my afr was around 11-12 under WOT? Isn't that slightly rich? f I remember correctly it was slightly lean @ 16 initially but then quickly moves to 11ish -12

I will have to double check when I get home

It's okay for trims to be up high, as long as AFR's are ok you are golden. You do need to be careful though when trims are high as you may start to go lean if you end up in a cooler climate.

Does anyone have any clue why my transf temperatures are stuck reading 160-170? Even after sitting for 12+ hours I start my engine to 160ish readings

I would also send that question into BMS support to see if they can explain it.

I did and cannot seem to get a solid answer... Maybe it's the sensor, maybe it's not... They don't know.

I was told to physically check the sensor, any idea where it is?

I did not, but checked with the Q50 forum. If you are not a member, I highly recommend you join. Very informative and entertaining at times also! Here is the thread with a diagram and a youtube video link.

What's up folks. I think I have an issue. When monitoring "trans temp" (intercooler water temp) with my JB4, I see ridiculously low temps. Like 38-44 degrees. I verified that I'm monitoring in Fahrenheit and not Celcius. I'm on V9 firmware just to make sure that wasn't an issue. Does this mean I...

I just installed the JB4 on my Red Sport today. I’d like to monitor my intercooler coolant temps. Which gauge do I choose to see it? I don’t see one that says transf. Thx.

Not sure why you wouldn't see it...do you know how to change the gauges and bring up the list of available parameters? On your gauge screen you just touch and hold one of the gauges and the list come up. Are you doing that?

Yeah I can pull up the list. There’s one that says Temp_Trans but that the only option with that word in it.

Any idea why my fuel trims would be so maxed out?
After doing more pulls it goes very lean for the first couple of seconds and then catches up.

But this absolutely limits me safely at map 2/3.... Probably 2 to be absolutely safe.

Map 4 seems out of the question because my afr hits 17 after the first second or two or WOT.... but eventually catches up and will drop to 12ish... But trim stay maxed.

Would upgrading the LPFP solve this ? Or is it an injector issue? Or even HPFP?
