The duty bias, fuel bias etc sliders are a PIA. I much prefer the older style. I know we can still manually enter variables but was easier to do on older version.
sliders are way too sensitive and the increments are pretty useless IMO.
I mean who scales fuel bias say 40.1 / 40.3 /40.6, etc ?
its usually in increments of 1-5 i.e. 40/42/44/etc...some guys even greater...NOT 0.1
I am all for updating gauges for a cooler look, but keep user adjustment simple so less mistakes / accidents can be made.

Also "log" button is too close to "logs" ....for my liking anyway.
Donnie, if I switch from Android to Apple ,would this resolve the GOOGLE issue of having logs "hidden" and being deleted along with user settings when deleting and reinstalling app ?
It is seriously frustrating not being able to have control of MY logs.
For instance I was writing an email earlier and wanted to attach a log. I used to just attach a log from my files and add it to email.
Now I have to send logs one by one (depending on the situation) to myself ( I use SIGNAL), save it from the app to my phone, then I can attach to email and send. What a clusterphuck when a year or 2 ago everything was SIMPLE.
Logs lost, user settings lost, etc from being in BETA and uninstalling app is a PIA.
Had to delete app and leave BETA to get older version of app...so...yeah, all lost as I was not going to waste time sending logs to myself to save, etc. PITFA.
I will switch phones if all goes back to normal on a Apple phone. Lmk plz.

Having said that, this is still a beta so reporting bugs or issues like slider increments for the different sections is usable information and we'll get that fixed. I'll also check out the bug regarding bits and Avg Ign. The app not scaling a gauge display correctly wouldn't cause any tuning issues.

Why not just select 20 or more logs at a time, email them to yourself in large batches, save wherever you want, then use however you want? I just sent a ton in less than 30 seconds as a test so it's really not that big of a deal.
You deleting the app is what lost you the logs. I had everything setup for you on the beta to have access to the old logs and warned you not to uninstall it. :/
I'm also pretty sure that if you delete the app on iOS then reinstall it you'll still lose logs as well.

Google/Apple change their policies for staying compliant with their system every year. Welcome to the struggle...

it was the only fix for me and was necessary to do.
As far as user adjustment here to stay....It's YOUR app, of course you will do as YOU wish. Some people prefer form over function.
I prefer User friendly and will stick to the basic version and simply not update! For ME it's easierto do this all on 1 page. Maybe others will prefer clicking on different pages to get to where they need to get to adjust sliders.

Still not seeing your problem with the increments of the sliders. Just checked and the Fuel/Duty bias sliders adjust on integer values and have no decimal point.

What didn't work about it? Did you hit the overlay button in the upper right to show it?
As far as sliders, I tried to adjust real quick (on side of road) and could not EASILY get the values I wanted / needed so that is why I prefer old style all on 1 page. Neat , simple, easy to adjust what is needed . I would not try quick adjustments with sliders again. For ME, it is faster and more accurate to punch in manually all user settings, 1 page, review, confirm, save.
The new layout has too many pages to flip thru (for me) because sliders take up extra space.
I am open to cooler gauges and color, other than that, to me the older version works GREAT and has a more useful layout for what matters to ME.
Once again, form over function issue IMO.
I (others of course will disagree like yourself )will trade in the new "cooler" sliders and multiple pages of user adjustable setting for the page posted above.
as I said before, I am a "less is more" type of person.

I have been testing all the features in the the new beta and everything works really well for me!! Thanks again for listening to the users and making changes as needed.
One thing I would like clarified is the auto log feature.
I have auto logging turned on, pedal threshold to 90% and timeout at 3 seconds.
From my understanding, whenever I reach 90% throttle it should start logging automatically until I close the throttle for more than 3 seconds? My app never starts a log automatically but if I start one by pushing the log button it will end the log when I close the throttle for more than 3 seconds. Do I need to adjust a setting?
Thanks.

Your understanding is correct, but there must be a bug preventing the log from starting automatically. We'll be checking into it.
To everyone, we'll be posting new beta builds over the next few days with bug fixes for the bit settings not showing/saving correctly and some QOL improvements to the slider page.
We've added variable precision to the sliders in the User Adj page. The general idea is that once you start a touch on a slider, the further away you slide from it in the y direction, the smaller your value will change with respect to the x axis. Demo video to illustrate the feature:

Most everything is working well.
not a big fan of the the way the gauge customization works. I have two issues with it. the first being the way the percentages work. its based off a percentage of the gauges sweep and not relevant values to the parameter being displayed. this isnt a big deal for some one who understands this but it will probably be confusing for some people.
second issue with the gauge color customizations are not being able to flip min and max values or the sweep of the gauge, for example, during a pull you cant look at the gauges much anyways however i would like to set the gauges up in a way that i can recognize in my peripheral that a parameter is out of spec. to do this id have the ideal values in green, borderline values in yellow and dangerous in red. ideally id only want to see red when something is bad. currently the gauges show the red and yellow areas of the sweep at all times.. this applies only to parameters which descend in numerical values such a fuel pressures.
i hope that makes sense. like i said these thing are just reason i dont care for them as they are, others may have a differing thought. just info to consider.
on this topic it would be cool to be able to set alarm parameters.. say if fuel pressure drops below a set point then the entire app face would flash red similar to how the shift light works. i dont care for a shift light but if i could have the app flash at me when a parameter went out of spec, id love that.
also, there is still a bug with the app not ending a automatically started log if the app is in the back ground. it will continue to log until you bring the app to the foreground. then it will end and save the log.
looking forward to slider sensitivity.. the work being put into this app is awesome and Thanks!
currently this app is one of the main things holding me back from moving to the reflex.

I updated today to the latest beta and still have issues with the auto logging feature.
Previously the auto log would not start automatically but would end after the 1 second timeout.
With the new version the log does not start or stop automatically, so a little step backwards based on my experience.
Its not a big deal, I just wanted to report it to help the developers.
The variable slider function works great and everything else is working as normal.
Thanks again.
** Update** I played with some of the settings and when I clicked on ignore clutch it now allows me to auto log without issue. Logs start and stop automatically when then should. User error on my part.Last edited by GB Cerato; 12-28-2022, 02:52 AM.

Is it possible to cache username and password in the new beta app. I run the app on an android head unit which although does have mobile internet the connectivity can be hit and miss. If I try and open the new app and my connection isn't working then it just prompts me to fix the login. Hey everyone, we will be bringing 'Graph' gauges into the app next week. These gauges will show live readings along with a roughly 10 second historic graph.

Another feedback on Android. Whenever I close the JB4 app, it cannot reconnect via bluetooth. My workaround that works all the time is clear the JB4 app's cache. For now, I put up a script that automatically does it for me.
I hope this can be fixed. Never had this issue on the official release.

Sorry for the delay, but we've got a few extra features almost ready to roll out. Gauge shadowing along with min/max recall will be making their way into the next builds along with the graph gauges we mentioned before.
Gauge shadowing basically shows your recent max value over a short 5 second window.
To view min/max values for a parameter, simply double tap on the gauge to cycle through min/max/live.

Hey Team, this new version of the app still finds some issues to work via bluetooth with certain Android radios?
It has always needed a cable connection to work, I'm aware.
The issue comes when you already run the Bluetooth connect kit, so then using the cable to connect to the radio becomes a little problematic.
Are there any instructions to run both the bluetooth adapter and the data cable at the same time?Last edited by BimmerN54; 01-21-2023, 12:38 PM.

Added a new feature, reworked a good chunk of the connectivity code, and addressed a few small bugs such as opening the app while offline. Doing some final testing then the new build will finally be going up.
New Feature: Single Parameter Alarms (multi-parameter alarms is on the todo list)
Select a paremeter
Select if the alarm will trigger over/under the threshold
Set the threshold value

coming along nicely.
I have an issue with the 'Alarms'. i love the feature but it needs a bit more thinking to make it useful.
the problem is that it only take one condition into account. example of what im saying. I would like to set an alarm for my High pressure fuel. i would like to get an alarm if it is less than say 10. we can do that now and it works, the problem is the HPFP stays below that when not under high demand such as idle or cruise. would need to add in other conditions to the alarm to make it useful, like if throttle is more than 90% then alarm if HPF is less than 10. same would need to happen with a AFR alarm. if throttle is greater than 90 and rpm above 3500 the alarm if afr is above setpoint.
also have issue with auto logs not stopping sometimes. seem to happen at random it will initiate the log but will not stop it. would be helpful to know what all the factors are when the app is determining when to end the auto log.

Couple of things I have noted (and send feedback through TestFlight
1. As others have noted, boost values are incorrect - 2psi instead of 20psi
2. Boost values read correctly in real time in the app on the circular gauges but on the bar gauges they do not read correctly.
3. I have changed the temp value to C in the app but it still reads in F in real time
4. I dont see a way to access different saved map 6 tunes as in the previous app
5. The app won't display logs in graph for on the app "no chart data available" then the app crashes
6. there are some greyed out options "shift indicator category" won't open
I will continue to test and report anything else.
Keep up the good work BMS team.
thanks
