Curious if I have the right firmware installed and if there is any updates to the software itself? Very new to this. Under the firmware selection, do I download the stable hex from Kia/Hyundai or Kia/Genesis 1.6L SmartStream. Does the JB4 understand what engine is installed? Thank you. Sorry for the stupid questions.
What version firmware are you on now? It's shown in the app under read only settings, or in any log CSV at the top.

You can load platform 20 v2 BETA firmware in the app if you'd like to update. Changes are mostly logging related, not actual tuning.

          • Is it possible to run map 3 with 94 octane gas since e85 is restricted in Canada I have to order barrels or is there a method to run it without ethanol?

Most Canadian 94 is worse than 91, every now and again we'll find someone who has a good station. Log map2 with it and evaluate those ign 2-6 corrections. If they are very low/0 then you can try map3. If not then don't.

              • Interesting log comparison from a customer car. He's running a Lap v2.5 flash with the usual bolt on mods. But for reasons unknown has major over boosting. Had he not been looking at his data, he may never have known how bad it was.

As a test he clicked over to JB4 map8, the VALET map, which reduces the flash boost target around 20%. And even without having EWG connectors map8 was enough to dial boost down close to where it's supposed to be.

After seeing how effective the map8 logic for these situations I'm thinking of adjusting map6 so customers can go "negative" with boost to dial in how much boost they want the JB4 to remove by engine speed exactly. Always looking for ways to make the JB4 more useful for those customers who have decided to also flash their ECU.

                • For the 2.5t platform.

                  1. When do you think your system will be able to detect gear so that boost by gear can be configured?

                  2. Any plans on integrating fuel system with the fuel wires like on other engine platforms?

                  3. Have your WMI kit coming, recommended distance to install sprayer from throttle body?

                  4. For the WMI map what psi is system adjusting to? Max 7psi with no taper?
