    2.5t smart stream

I wonder with this engine being MPFI and DPFI if we have much more fueling capabilities than other hyundai/kia/genesis platforms.

Well it seems like either the direct injection or port injection is going to limit power on this engine. It looks like the engine changes from one to another around 45 miles per hour. On 18psi boost the engine runs lean afr around 15, until it hits about 45mph. Then afr drops back down to where I would expect it around 12.5.

@BMS - any idea on when the new connectors will be available? At least for the 3 prong MAP?

You should be able to email Terry and he’ll work with you to get them shipped. That’s what I did a few weeks back.

Nice, email sent. What is needed with the new connectors? Is it the whole harness or do we need to tap the new sockets?

I’m currently running Map2 on a 2022 Stinger GT-Line, if I move to Map3 and run E30 are stock plugs still fine? I know a lot of other 2.5L Stingers are running HKS M45XLs, just not sure if it’s needed or not.

Hey everyone! Slated to take delivery of my 2.5 Gv70 next week. I want to order the modules and get everything ready for delivery. Couple questions, what's the recco re break-in for the engine, should I wait 50p miles before running the new map? Also from reading there was a bu ch of talk about a 2.5 beta connector and a link to a now non existent product page. Am I safe to assume that the current 2.5t unit available on the site is the correct one? Thanks in advance!

I'd give the car 200 miles just to ensure its not a dud from the factory. Beyond that no real break in is needed for JB4 tuning.

The 2.5 uses the Kia V2 tuner on our site.

Hey Terry, any plans in releasing an aftermarket intake for the 2.5? I am highly interested and cannot find any online at the moment.

Had the JB4 since the beginning of this year and love it.

K&N makes a typhoon intake system for the Sorento. I have it and it's fine. Before this I built my own from parts at Summit. Very simple. The Sorento intake will fit the Sante Fe and should fit the K5 GT and Sonata NLine as well.

Thanks, I'll look into it. I have the GV70 so not sure if that will still fit.

Terry @ BMS had a few questions on the logging and performance.

                                    1. With these cars, pedal 100% and throttle 96% is normal right? Throttle is at the throttle body. Hitting that pedal switch at the bottom to force a downshift doesnt really adjust this?

                                    2. Seems every log I have when I do a pull, A/F is ~14.5 in third gear and then goes to 10.7 for fourth gear and every gear thereafter. I could start a log in fourth gear and finish in fifth or sixth and see the same thing. I see it in other tunes as well. Figure this is all safe? I'd love a little lesson on that as I'm a little bit older and dont understand much of the higher tech engines these days.

                                    3. Will the 2.5T's be able to one day have the Gear, Water Temp, and Oil Temps logged and recorded in the JB4? Nothing visible live or in logs. Oil always says 43 and water always says 32.

                                    4. Do you have a tutorial on how to create a custom MAP and watch to watch for? Been searching youtube and nothing really good there.

                                    5. Finally...your team is the best. Always responsive and always supporting the customer and vehicle owners. Give the entire team big thanks. My local Hyundai dealer is like y'all with customers and I buy the techs and service writers pizzas or smoothies some days. I'd love to buy your office some lunch one day.

                                    -Tim

                                      1) Yes throttle 98% or whatever it is represents full throttle.
                                      2) AFR will run stoich and then go rich as EGT goes up, due to the factory logic
                                      3) Those are on our to-fix list for the platform
                                      4) Anything we did have would not really apply to the 2.5. I'd just run one of our preset maps on it unless the car has some crazy mods or something.
                                      5) Happy to help!

Fack i forgot one question. I have a lag in throttle/engine response if I go from 0% throttle to WOT instantly. Maybe 1 second of a delay. Of course, you don't really feel it as bad when rolling through the throttle. Anything in the JB4 that can get rid of the delay from instant 0% to 100% throttle?
