'18 Stinger GT, overboost (possibly?) with 0049 CEL code while running map 2

JB4 w/ fuel wires & EWG connectors

Pulsating power at WOT while running map 2 (with 93 octane) & then almost no power. Felt like wastegate oscillation as that's what was diagnosed to other drivers with the same problem as me.
CEL comes on and car goes into limp mode. JB4 app read 0049 code(which in the forums looks to be possible overboosting)
Disconnected battery to clear the code, haven't run map 2 since.
I don't have any logs while running map 2 since I don't want to keep throwing the CEL and putting the car into limp mode.
I have, so far, done several pulls at WOT in map 1 with no issues (1st through 5th gear) and I believe I have some short logs in map 1 as well. But like I said earlier, no logs for my map 2 run since I was kinda put off by that CEL.

I would like to run map 2 for the increased gain in power over map 1, and I was wondering if there were any parameters I could change to keep the WG from oscillating and also keep the car from throwing the CEL & 0049 code.

if your DWP setting is at 60 or above, change it to 0.

LOL...in that log at least you never put the pedal to the floor, only 50% at most. Try a proper log and post that. You may want to update your firmware as well.

For proper review and the JB4 to adapt, please do logs in 3rd or 4th gear from 2K rpms to redline at wide open throttle.

New log, pedal to floor. No power pulsating, however almost immediately after the pedal went to the floor it pretty much died on me and felt like an aggressive Prius at best.

Do you have anything else plugged in to the OBDII port?

I'm not sure what else is going on there...very strange.

No, nothing. I can double check the connections, make sure everything is good. I thought the log looked weird myself.

I shouldn't have said nothing. I have the JB4 in the OBDII port, technically, yes. Map 1 seems to be working fine, I'll run logs in map 1 and map 2 to see if that paints a bigger picture.

I don't know what's going on with the logs. It like stops recording the log when I'm under full load. When I looked at this CSV in excel, the MPH it had recorded jumps from 33mph to 100mph in an instant.

What I feel in the car, however, is that boost comes in & then cuts out, in and out, in and out. Does this a couple of times and then feels like it's giving me no boost even with the pedal to the floor. Starting to do this even in map 1. Hasn't thrown any CEL on me though.

Logs never show you at 100% throttle. Can you clear the code then do a log in 3-4th gear at full throttle?

See that's the issue. I'm going pedal to the floor but the log doesn't show it either for the pedal or the throttle. But I feel the car surging in and out of power. And this happens with or without traction/stability control.

How does it do on map 0? You said this is getting progressively worse, correct...now you even have the problem on map 1?

Map 0 is perfectly fine.
Map 1 is more powerful than map 0 with a slight amount of power surging/jerkiness.
Map 2 is undrivable at WOT. For like half a second I feel the power and then it just dies on me, limp mode. But that half a second is amazing. I wish it were more permanent lol.

Would the intakes be the cause? I just did an airbox delete with cone filters. But everything is tightened very well and secured. And like I said before, I don't have issues with map 0. Should I try logs in map 1 and 2 with the stock airboxes/filters in place? (Note: I'm not sure if an airbox delete helps with power or just turbo noises, in the end I'll probably end up buying the BMS intakes so that I can get the quality vs my little DIY thing)

No problem...none of the logs I looks at look normal.

Do a log on map 0, then map 1, and then map 2.

Was this a recent new JB4 install? Has it ever run correctly?

Recently installed, yes. But purchased second hand in the stingerforum website.
Map 2 never worked correctly.

It might be an older 2580 chip. You have EWG and it's tied to some of the issues you have. An updated chip is $20, it might be worth it.

Interesting. Are there any telltale visual differences between the older & newer chips? Or would I be able to tell which one I have in the JB4 app settings?

Okay, after a small hiatus (vacation & being out of town) I can finally say that I swapped the chip for the upgraded chip and map 2 is working flawlessly, no power surging, no check engine lights, no limp mode. Thank you all for being so helpful & responsive!
