Trying to figure out if I need a new chip. Can't tell if this is a pre-October 2019 chip or not.

    Thanks!

I can't visually tell what firmware is loaded on it but its from around 2018. If you have an issue with the app randomly cutting out completely (JB4 restarting) during WOT runs, then it likely needs to be updated. If you have startup EWG faults that clear and don't return until next restart, it likely needs to be updated.

Will the app tell me which firmware it's running?

I have the EWG wires, and oddly enough, never had issues until this week. P25A1, P2587, P2588, and P25A0 have all popped individually. Car runs fine after I clear them. Just disconnected the EWG wires this afternoon, will drive the car and see if new CELs emerge.

Do the codes only appear at startup and did that issue come up right after installing EWG wires?

Yes...nope, had the wires for months now. Drove the car for several hours, no issues, no lights.

Just ordered a new chip, will see if that corrects the issue.

Seems unlikely to be the cause of any issues then but its easy to swap to check. Be sure to mail back the original too, we can recycle them. Supplies have been tight lately.
