  • 2022 GV70 3.5T log check

Just installed my JB4 today and running map 1 on 93 octane. Just want to make sure everything looks safe to move up to map 2.

I would recommend mixing a couple gallons of E85 or higher octane fuel just to make it solid. There are already a few timing corrections.

I went ahead and updated the firmware to the latest stable version after the log.

Since I did hook up the fuel wires what would be a good safe setting to put for the fuel open loop parameter under the user settings? I believe the default was 20 or 30.

There are no fuel wires, as far as I know, for 3.5tt. Am I missing something?
Also, I was told to get "Beta" firmware, which is JB4_P35_KIA_V4_2_T3

This is the connection that I was referencing.

The fuel pressure connection is useful for those running E85 mixtures. Open loop 30 should be fine.

Thanks, Terry, for the info. I’m waiting to run out this tank of fuel since I forgot that the prior owner could have been running 87 octane so to eliminate that possibility I’m going to run this current tank of fuel way down and put in fresh 93 and retest and get a new log of map1.

Here is the latest log of map 1 with 93 octane. It still doesn’t feel super smooth like my Stinger did. Also I threw a CEL last night (didn’t have time to check what tripped it) since it went away quickly.

Log itself looks clean to me.

                      Terry,

I was wondering if you could help me out with an issue that I'm experiencing. I'm getting a surging when the JB4 box is connected and I go about 1/2 throttle. I have been running on the stable firmware version 35/1/7, with 93 octane on map1, and I'm getting some surging/hesitation. I retested on map 0 (see video: https://youtu.be/9qKVKnqlEZA) and experienced the same surging/hesitation. I unhooked the JB4 box today, retested, and the surging/hesitation was eliminated (https://youtu.be/-baJJfMAubU). Any ideas of what can be causing this or if it's fixed in a later firmware revision. As of now I'm going to have to leave this JB4 unhooked until a map revision is made.

I went ahead and updated the firmware to both the Alpha and Beta versions and retested, and had the same surging/hesitation. See video here: https://youtu.be/wdRBbiEjBBU. I floored it on that last run and had CELs as well (hopefully that's shown in the log attached since I had issues with the phone disconnecting from the JB4 every time I went to start a log). As of right now I've disconnected the JB4, and have a $500 paperweight sitting under my hood. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So i was told to disconnect the front sensor with the brown wire and hook up the factory connection and to leave the yellow red connector on top hooked up. This seems to have fixed the boost oscillation and misfire issue. Does this have any effect on the maps power output? is it safe to run it this way long term? Any one else done this yet?
