  • Any reported issues after Sonata 2.5T TCU recall flash?

Hi Terry @ BMS and team. Hope all been well!

I wanted to check in if anyone has emailed in with any issues after doing the recall flash Hyundai has for the 2.5T DCT.

I have a random bogging down in the 4-5K RPM range while under ~60-70% throttle. It rarely ever happened prior. Seems to be every other day now. I attached a log for a full pull after a few hours from the update. But I just can’t get a log of the times it bogs down and comes to life. It’s abrupt, 1 second of fall on face and then goes back to party mode.

30,000 miles. HKS plugs gapped at recommendation. I checked the Beta connectors and all seem good and tight.

I’ll keep trying to log the issue. Figure worth a thread for the post recall flash from Hyundai.

Looks like you were 100% throttle throughout the entirety of the pull. Please recreate the issue you are having in another log.
    Thanks!

      Hi Cannon!

I am still trying to recreate it. It happened a little less severe today. End of this log, all I can see is throttle input drops, but it was that shift where it felt like it cut out and came back. New TCU update shifts super hard even in just sport mode during this log. I’m sure my throttle input moved a little with the jerk during the shift. I was not full throttle at all during the log.

I’m going to continue to log in hopes I get it happening again. Good news is it hasn’t happened much lately.

      Thanks yall

      Tim

Not really seeing anything out of the norm here other than timing falling on its face. What fuel are you using?

Hi Cannon @ BMS . It’s only seen 93 octane from Shell stations.

Try out a new gas station and see if it helps out with the issue.
