  • Map 5 review

Hello. These are my first two runs on map5 with ~E40-E50 ( I know I know, need to get fuel-it).

Could someone check my runs? They look pretty good to me.

How do I know if I'm ready for map 6? Just start tweaking and see what happens?

The runs look OK here but I would not suggest any more boost.

But...I need to go faster. Why no more boost?

Looking for advice on next steps.

CPI and new fuel pump are to deliver more gas to engine, but apparently I'm not running lean yet so I don't need those?.

So how do I consume more fuel to the point where additional fuel needs to be supplied?

      Thanks,

What about you? Any recommendations on next steps I could take for more power? Am I really at max boost?

        Thanks,

Without a backend flash or a tune more boost doesn't necessarily mean more HP. At this point HFC, Meth/CPI, light weight parts, and a tune will all contribute to a much faster car. Check out Terry's BEF. I tested it and it ran pretty solid.

Backend flash/tune? I thought that was the point of the JB? Where can I read about more info?

Also- Should I try higher E mixes? The most I've done is ~E50. I also just discovered actual race gas near me.

Anyway, I see there can be some restrictions alleviated in the secondary cats. Will start there and keep researching. Thanks for the info.

            pleas advise on above questions

The JB is a piggy back. As you know it connects to O2 sensors and the MAP sensor. It intercepts signals, manipulates them, then tricks the ECU into doing things it normally wouldn't. An actual tune is when the ECU is sent to a company and its manipulated at the core. A piggy back is very limited in a closed loop system like our Stingers. The tune circumvents all the factory limitations and allows much bigger gains. The best combination is having a tune AND a piggyback like the JB. The JB can correct overboost/Underboost, log, control CPI or Meth, read and clear codes. A Tune along can't do any of those things. Several good companies out there that provide tunes and it's a touchy subject on forums but here goes. I use Sxth Element, but others are Tork, Lap3, and Lozic to name a few.
