  • CANbus (OBDII) should always be connected.

Fuel wires are optional but no downside to installing them.

    • Thanks. I actually did go ahead and connect everything but the EWG's, and Map 2 is running great. Just filled up with E50 - should I try out Map 7 or is that risky on a road course car without other mods?

That's a pretty big jump for a few reasons.

        1. You haven't connected EWG wires.
        2. I haven't seen a log
        3. If on stock flash that E-content may be a bit high and could force you lean, I would need to see a log.

          • New question - when rapidly WOT shifting near redline, I experience about a half second of what feels like lower boost before I get full torque in the next gear. Is this an inherent property of the S55's intake tract building boost, or is there a boost delay setting I should adjust in my JB4?

            • Also, I just connected my EWG connectors, but the above behavior was before they were connected.

What's the procedure to make my way up to map 7? Logs on which lower maps are needed?

              Thanks

              • You can adjust auto shift boost reduction to see if that help with the lag. For map 7, start your own support thread and post a log on map 4.

                • Hello everyone

i bought a 2015 bmw m3 with the 600hp package already install in the car,I drove the car a bit in map1 and map2,today I try to open exhaust flap and my gauge when everywhere so I look at the forum to see what I did found my answer there but could you explain what possible with all this and what différent for me with the cluster and application in my phone ?

second question in first/second/third gear I see over 25psi on the gauge in the app but in four and more don’t seem to boost over 22psi on highway and more around 19 as per my co pilot you was looking, car seems much faster in 1/2/3 gear than 3/4/5 ? Just not sure what to change or look in settings of the app or cluster ?

                  • I'm sorry I'm going to need better punctuation and grammar to understand your first question. I can't follow what you're saying.

As for the boost issue, please upload a log.

                      Thanks, Steve. Will do both.

                      • Question about the shift boost reduction - what are the potential negative consequences of lowering the value from 10 (currently) all the way to zero? Is zero the equivalent of the JB4 not being in the loop (as far as this behavior alone is concerned), or could it potentially amplify a post-shift behavior resulting in an overboost spike? Is that the intent of this setting?

                        • Also, my M2 is a 6MT, if that makes a difference.

                          • With a 6MT is will make no difference.

                            • Yeah that's what I thought given the "auto"

I'll get some logs after I get my car back from service.

                              • So I just learned that this is actually a well-known issue with manual trans S55's. The factory logic compensates for the fact that there is no actual diverter valve by keeping the WGs open for a bit over a second after WOT shifts in order to prevent damage to the turbos. It seems the logic is way too conservative in this.

Terry @ BMS , Given the Stage 3 JB4 configuration includes direct EWG control, can this logic be overridden through a new JB4 ROM?

                                • 2018 M3 S55 For some reason I'm having problems deleting error codes in the phone app specially the saved codes . I tried both firmware JB4_P4_S55_20_T1 and JB4_S55_1_8_7_T2 and when i press show saved codes they keep popping up even when i press delete codes.

How can I clear them all i used to be able to do it ?
