    This is the central point of contact for all S58 JB4 BETA related information. Anything from install directions, to firmware updates, to settings, to frequently asked questions.     Map changes, datalogging, updates are done using the BMS data cable or the JB4 Mobile bluetooth kit.

    Map Guide as of v5 firmware:

    Map 0: Stock operation, JB4 disabled
    Map 1: Default performance map, 3psi peak request over stock (suitable for all 91+ RM2 fuels)
    Map 2: 4psi peak request over stock (91 -93 suggested)
    Map 3: 6psi peak request over stock (93 - E30 suggested)
    Map 4: 24psi absolute boost target (E30-E40 suggested)
    Map 5: 26psi absolute boost target (E30-E40 suggested)
    Map 6: User adjustable map. RPM1500 value of less than 5.7psi make entire map6 additive target based, value over 5.7psi make entire map6 absolute target based.
    Map 7: water/meth progressive map -- under development
    Map 8: Low boost / VALET map

    Note to properly delete fault codes the car must be in diagnostic mode first. With your foot off the brake press the ignition button 3 times fast. All lights will appear on dash.

    For those helping test the fuel pressure add on connection: Green goes to 11, and black goes to 23 right below it

    Exhaust Flap Control:

    For X3/X4 using the BC button you can change between open (left arrow), closed (right arrow), and OEM operation (both arrows). Not working yet on M3/M4

            Jb4 Installed on New X3M Comp

            Hey guys, I just installed the JB4 Beta in my new X3M Comp.
            Headed out to get some E85 now. I'll let you know how it runs.

              Yes map1 is fine for 91 octane, even at elevation.

                Amazing. 10's with just a tune.

                Is there no better place to run the OBD cable though? Looking at the directions, you have it going through the drivers door seal. That seems like it would get pinched. No grommets on the firewall you can use?

                    There's a hole in the firewall with a sticker over it. OBD cable passes through with ease.

                      Nice. I was just fawning over one at the dealer. Made my choice so much harder for this spring/summer... X3M Comp or M550 LCI? Same price, only $40 a month difference in the lease. 503hp vs 523hp..... Going to have to see what the JB4 does with the M550s new motor.

                              Spent a few hours this am with Steve on the dyno dialing in some firmware changes. Initially on 91 octane then Steve poured in some E85 to get it up to E47. So much tuning potential on these! Can't wait until the S58 finds its way in to the new M3.

                                Looks like these are at least 10% underrated from the factory. Probably more since this was on ****ty 91 octane. 503hp my ass. 550+ is more like it.

                                                  Installed everything and the car limits power @ 3500 rpms. I emailed support and Ando requested I update firmware and log 3rd gear. I did and problem persists. I am running Map 1 on 93 octane.

                                                  Any ideas? Power feels like it's increased over stock until that point. Then it cuts power and bucks like a manual car in the wrong gear.

                                                    Based on the fault code and log appears there is a physical issue with the sensor connection or JB4 board itself, replied to your email.

                                                      Terry got me the new board and the car is working well with Map 2. @ 4,000 DA it's running consistent 11.5s @ 118-119 on Draggy. Hoping that drops when the humidity stops. I have a standard X3M model (not competition) for comparisons.

                                                      Is anyone running maps 3 & 4? What octane is recommended?

                                                              Few dragy runs the other day from our JB4 only X3M (non-comp) on E30. Overall pretty solid! JB4 runs were on map4 at around 22-23psi. When time permits will crank it up further to get in the 10s.

                                                                Terry, for the G82 M4 are you able to confirm whether the JB4 is able to permanently delete the fault codes generated if the OPFs were to be removed on the Euro spec car.

                                                                    Making good process on S58 fuel pressure control. This will allow us to safely run higher E85 mixtures JB4 only. Once the changes are finalized will provide hardware free of charge to any of our S58 BETA customers.

                                                                              I think 560-575whp should be safe on good 93. We're still in the early days of figuring out what tuning works best for what fuels on the platforms in a way.

                                                                                    Just going off some numbers from Shift Sector this weekend I think Vargas ran 155mph 1/2 mile in his JB4 G80 AT vs. Payam who ran 149mph in his FBO F80 MT.

                                                                                        Install Instructions

                                                                                        I just want to make sure the installation instructions are the same for the M3/M4. The link on the website takes you to the X4M instructions which has a totally different cover and intake system.

                                                                                          So I ended up finding IMAP sensor. On the G832 platform, the best way to get to the sensor is from the top. It is completely inaccessible through the method listed in the X4 instructions linked to the product on the website.

                                                                                          This is what it looks like after removing the driver's side wheel.



                                                                                          If you remove the drivers side air filter box and loosen this nut, you can move this housing out of the way. You can use the hands of a nine year old and a small screw driver to pop the connector off. The tricky bit is getting the male connector from the JB4 connected to the factory female connector. Since the connector is very long and the connecting wires are relatively short, I had to use my extended needle nose pliers to hold the male connector and my hand to get the female on. After cursing whoever at BMS told me the instructions were exactly the same. I got the unit on.

                                                                                          While you're in there, you might as well get rid of the air silencer crap.
