  • Log review for 2022 M3 xdrive (drivetrain malfunction)

Terry @ BMS George @ BMS

    Terry/George
I ran a few yesterday and I'm struggling with a drivetrain malfunction it seems.

The attached log has a number of runs, the middle pulls were from a dig using launch control on my 2022 M3 xdrive. 2nd gear launch and when I came up to about 127mph, the car would throw the malfunction. These were Map 3, E30 mix here in Colorado.

I tested Map 0 the 2nd to last run, no issues and the last pull in the file was testing Map 2, no issues.

    v9 firmware.

    Any thoughts?

For a visual, you can see my first 2 dragy pulls (both Map 3) , it just levels off at the end when I get the malfunction. Then the third dragy pull, no malfunction in Map 2:

Looks like you are overboosting a fair amount. Let's try and get that resolved first. Go ahead and disable bit 1 to turn FF learning back on.

        What's the fault code, exactly?

Hello terry. I read codes immediately after it happened. No codes came up. Turned off the car and back on. CEL gone.

Hey fellas. Still the same in map3 with bit 1 turned off per Cannon’s request. Malfunction at about 125 mph. Map 2 works fine. Still no codes, read them right after.

Let's try a Map 6 with a 5.5psi additive in all boxes rather than absolute numbers.
Please start a new log with no old logs.
              Thanks!
