So the genius Mazda dealer filled our new car with 87 octane (lol), figured we'd do a few dragy runs to help burn the tank off. Best of which is attached. Apparently they rate the engine for 225hp on 87 octane, 250hp on 91+ octane, so we'll dragy 91 octane next before we install the JB4 prototype.

91 octane baseline runs, not bad! About as fast as a tuned Honda Civic 1.5T.

For V1 systems adding in the new MAF connection, first update the JB4 to the v4 or new firmware in the app. Select option bit6 on and save settings so the JB4 is aware you're a V1 application. This can be done any time after the install also if you forget to do it before.

Then open hood, lock doors, hide key, wait 5 min for ECU/car to power down.

Open the JB4 enclosure and the pins plug in to the JB4 spots. There are little numbers next to them. Check twice before plugging a pin in as they can only be removed with a dsub removal tool. See reference photo below. It's best to route the pins through the rubber harness grommet so they seal nicely when the enclosure is closed.

Purple is male connector goes to pin 8 on DB25
Blue is female connector goes to pin 14 on DB25

Finally attach the MAF connection to the MAF sensor and original harness.

Whew, at first, I thought you were going to say the 6 wouldn’t be applicable due to the minor differences. Glad to hear that tuning will be the same!

Making some decent progress here. Was able to add knock and learned knock factor to the logging channels. Making good progress on fuel control also. Once the logging is buttened up I'll start posting up some logs.

Issue cropped up with an o2 sensor so testing is on hold a few days as I wait for a new factory o2 sensor to show up.

Crap turns out its on world wide backorder, need to wait 3+ weeks now.

Yes the top end what I'm hoping to improve once we finally get fuel control sorted out. The car runs 10:1 from the factory for most of the power band!

BMS has a new AWD dynojet scheduled to be installed early Feb so we'll have to wait until then for factory and tuned dyno numbers.

The 2.5T has been around since 2016.
                                        So the o2 sensor used in the CX9, CX5 or 6 2.5T won't work?

                                        Is the part#?

Our new AWD dynojet should show up sometime next month too.

registered for updates. Can't wait to see what the 2.5t can do with tuning.

                                                      2021 Turbo 3

As an owner of the 2021 Mazda 3 Turbo in a Hatchback, I'm very excited to see it being developed. I've been waiting patiently for parts and tuning solutions, and came across this forum through the Burger site. I had a 2019 I bought in 2019 loaded up with everything from CS, now I have to wait again, haha. Already working on the sound system and matting.

Hope development is going well, I'll be eagerly awaiting updates.

Just as a development update we finally got our car back last week with the new o2 sensor. I was able to get EWG control up and running, but it's looking like we need to take MAF control to do everything we want to do. MAF is running a SENT signal rather than digital or analog so it's a little tricky, but we're making progress.

It's a newer protocol for handling sensor inputs, one that is a little more complicated for us to process. But we have other SENT based platforms so not a huge deal. Just a little extra time to sort out how to handle it.

It’s independent of traction, precipitation, engine and transmission temps, you name it. When it drops below 20, there’s no boost until 3rd gear. If you heat soak the engine when it’s less than 20 outside you’ll get normal power for the first pull. After that it drops back down to nothing. Have you seen anything like that so far?

On the CX models I think the TMAP is mounted to the top of the intercooler, likely under a plastic cover, as shown in this IC install photo we saw online. I want to confirm it's the same 4 wire sensor on your manifold.

I just got done with a complete overhaul of the audio system from the factory amp out (JL Fix86 and Twk88) and am ready for my next project, lol. There are supposed to be intake and exhaust systems coming along soon too from Corksport. ETA on exhaust is completely unknown atm as it's supposed to be a full ******** and high flow ***/no *** then back. But intake 'should' be this spring. I'm eager to get my hands on the system.

On the CX models I think the TMAP is mounted to the top of the intercooler, likely under a plastic cover, as shown in this IC install photo we saw online. I want to confirm it's the same 4 wire sensor on your manifold.

Took a look at my CX-5 and removed part of the tray. You are correct, the TMAP is mounted on the passenger side of the intercooler. I couldn’t get a good picture of the TMAP but looks to be a 4 wire connection that also has an additional spot where it disconnects on the side of the intercooler. Unfortunately I couldn’t get in there any further to read the part number.

                                                                                                Hopefully this helps somehow.
