  • Hybrid Turbos Logs Review

Hello, I have timing errors and I would like to have a review of the logs by the pros, some logs are set to DB50 others to zero following a big fall that sent me to map4

My configuration is: LPFP stage 3, fuel line, hybrid Turbos, 2' inlet/outlet, FMIC, ARM + CP 3', dump HKS, DP 76mm + exhaust 63mm, n20 spark plugs (new), Delphi oem coils (new), index 12 injectors (new), tmap oem

The vanos solenoids are originals, valves cleaned
I ride with the flash e85 hybrid with full tank e85

I find that my boost fluctuates a lot in the middle of the race
What advice can you give me to smooth these pulls, I would like to run at 20psi properly while I put PI on (I have a tmap n20 already in the garage waiting)

    Thank you for your opinions

Sorry for the delay in response, I hadn't seen your reply.
I use Autowerks turbos and an ebay intercooler
I tried a slightly custom setting in map6 but it was very hot all summer so I didn't use the car much
Moreover, I have the DMTL pump error but in Europe we do not have this pump, is the flash back end in question? US spec?

Your HPFP is on the struggle bus otherwise looks pretty normal.

You can defeat the code in the flash for the DTML since you don't have it.

          Thanks for your feedback
The PI BMS intake manifold is planned for the end of the year to be able to go and pull 24psi
I don't understand what you mean by "defeat", you mean it doesn't affect engine management?

The code can be added to the flash so it doesn't throw the code or a CEL.

                    Good morning

I added PI on my configuration
After adjusting DB compared by my old configuration, I still have a boost peak, normal?
I always had it but today it is still important (+3 psi compared to the target)

Also since I injected the new PI flash I have to hold the throttle on start otherwise the car stalls
It lasts 2 seconds after it stabilizes at 600rpm and I can let go of the pedal
I disabled cold boot when writing with MHD, but with hybrid flash I don't have this problem, any idea?

                    Thank's

If you're having issues with the car stalling, I'd do a log of it occurring to see what's going on. Not sure about the boost spike, it could be related or not but I would not consider it normal.

Thanks for your quick response, I didn't specify that I was running full e85 and had cold start disabled (MHD) during my BEFs

(Flash e85) In the summer, I have no problem, below 65°F, I had to apply 1mm of accelerator pedal pressure

(Flash PI e85), below 65°F, I have to apply 2mm of pedal and keep it depressed for 2-3sec
                        Same at 45°F

Have you ever had this phenomenon?
Should I apply a few seconds cold start to my map?

Some of that is inherent for E85 and cold starts but you could certainly play with it. If it's happening when the car is warm, I'd say that points to another issue.

Hello, I have a problem with my JB4, I can't log, when I start log, "JB4 starting logging" freeze (see attachment). I must be disconnect the JB4 to make starting logging off
I can set and save my settings, i have upgrade the firmware to the T9, everithing is ok exept logging
I'm logging with laptop, same configuration than l same configuration as those already done on this thread
Has this problem ever happened to anyone?

I don't think I've heard of this issue. Could be something with your buffer or memory. Have you tried deleting old files and you could also try deleting the app and reinstalling it. That's what I'd do first.

                                Good morning
I tried but it didn't work, I'm currently testing with another laptop but it's the same, do you think something could be disturbing the link in my settings? (I tried several COM ports, latency on 1)
I'm disgusted, I love this interface and the way I can adjust and read the logs at the same time
Do you think the app would fix the problem? I'm afraid it's the same with the same cable connection, maybe bluetooth?
There is no hard reset possible on the JB4?

Have you tried Com3? Make sure you're downloaded the most recent version of the software as well.

Hello, thank you for the support, in fact, I can still log, but only WOT, there is a condition for the log? Pedal percentage perhaps? I can't log at constant speed or during startups

I had misfires under WOT at times but with improved coils the problem is solved and I am running today at 24 psi (I still have to adjust the DB a little)

I also made up for the cold start flaw with a 5 second cold start (which I will probably increase to 3 seconds)

I confirm that the start is flawless with the hybrid flash, but as soon as I put the hybrid+PI flash back on, the starts are complicated
When hot, the engine rises to 1300 rpm then immediately drops to zero (the cold start not taking over), I have to restart the starter and let it run for 3 seconds for it to start again (with mild temperatures)

I was planning to compare the flashes but I'm not very familiar with the technical terms of the xdf yet, I have for the moment adjusted the pedal (Torque request) for something less aggressive on the range < 50%, does you have a track for the starts in the xdf?

I checked that my PI injectors were not leaking and 'drowned' the spark plugs on start-up, they are very dry

                                    Thanks again for the help

                                      Good morning

I dig a little on my problem, I noticed that in map0, the car starts perfectly, cold as hot

Could the problem come from settings 10 and 11 of the JB4 ? What is their influence on behavior ?

Furthermore, I have accelerator oscillations when I want to keep the pedal speed at 90 km/h 1700tr/min for example, is it possible to erase this phenomenon in menu 11 or 12 ?

Finally, what are these settings for? (red)

                                      Thank's

Do not use those external trigger settings unless instructed.

Descriptions of those menu's are found on the JB4 page and I've copied them here...

Default Wastegate Position (DWP): Menu 10 (0-5000rpm). The position the wastegate returns to when making less than 1.5psi of boost. Higher values can make the car feel more responsive but in some vehicles will make it more prone to "wastegate rattle". Lower values of say 800rpm are sometimes preferred to reduce rattle but might make low throttle feel more sluggish. Wastegate rattle is a hardware problem in nature and the software settings can only attempt to mask this issue. In some cases no setting can fully mask the rattle. This setting only effects performance at very low throttle input.

Pedal input: Menu 11 (0-5000rpm). This determines the gas pedal's impact on the boost target. A value of 0 will target 0psi up to 45% gas pedal input while a value of 5000rpm will target 0psi up to 5% gas pedal input. Regardless of setting full boost will be targeted at 100% gas pedal input. Note that depending on your menu 12 setting you will likely make more than 0psi regardless of this setting at lower gas pedal inputs when under load.

Base duty cycle: Menu 12 (0-5000rpm) and represents the minimum duty cycle to the boost solenoids. PWM will not drop below this value regardless of boost. The default setting is 2800rpm which is 28%. Going too high or low on this value may cause over/under boosting during low and partial throttle, surging, boost oscillation, and other headaches. Generally speaking this value should be set between 2400-2800rpm.
