When working with live wires ALWAYS disconnect the negative battery terminal in the trunk first. Do not attempt to install the tuner, connect the tuner box to the harness, or otherwise work on the vehicles electrical system with the battery connected. Doing this may result in a damaging voltage spike being sent to the DME.
Also be very careful when working with the BMS USB cable as it sits close to the battery rail which is a live +12v connection. Allowing the USB cable to touch the +12v connection WILL damage the JB4 and MAY damage the TMAP sensor wiring requiring the ground bypass at the bottom of the guide to be performed. Wrapping a piece of cloth tape over the battery rail connection and/or USB connection will help prevent accidental damage.
Current F Series JB4 Install Guide
Hey guys,
This thread will be used to centralize all F series JB4 information. Anything important is in the first post. The rest is 100 pages of discussion, much of which may no longer be relevant. If its not in the first post then its probably not very important.

Note: We sell two systems for the F series N55. The Stage1 and the JB4. There is no such thing as a JB4 Stage1 and no such thing as a JB4 Stage2. The Stage1 DOES NOT have updatable firmware, CANbus, or changeable maps. If you have a Stage1 system then none of the information in this post is relevant to you.

Map Info (selected via menu 0 in dash or using JB4 Mobile/laptop interface. Map1 is the default map)
Map 0: JB4 disabled
Map 1: Additive target, around 4psi over stock.
Map 2: Additive target, around 6psi over stock. Suggested for those with 93 octane and bolt on modifications. Also good for small E85 mixtures.
Map 3: Progressive WMI mapping.
Map 4: Stock performance with JB4 active for logging only.
Map 5: Autotuning map, absolute target of 11-17psi based on octane and conditions.
Map 6: User definable absolute target map. Suggested for troubleshooting by professionals only.
Map 7: Race gas map. Absolute target of 18.5psi. Requires straight unleaded race gas.
E85 Use
Up to 30% E85 mixtures can be used in most situations.
M2 Specific Map Settings
The M2 runs much higher boost from the factory than a normal N55 motor and thus often requires special settings. Ensure you have v13 firmware or higher, Set FutureUseD bit6 on (as if you had a back end flash map), and then we suggest starting with map2.
Firmware
Both the F10 and F30 N55 motors share the same firmware. Note models using the pneumatic wastegate, primarily 2013-early 2014 models where the JB4 harness blue patch is connected, need to use PWG firmware. Those equipped with an electronic wastegate, primarily 2014+ models where the JB4 blue batch is NOT used, need to use EWG firmware. Note for older systems POSITAP firmware (the old wire taps for brown/green wires) has been discontinued and no new updates will be done. So upgrade to the OBDII CANbus connector & firmware if you wish to run the latest firmware & features.
F10/535 in dash control
To enable the BC button menu changes on F10/535 models you must connect to the JB4 using a BMS DATA cable or BlueTooth kit and change FutureUseD bit Home on (resulting value of 2) press save. Then turn off ignition and lock doors for 5 min to allow the JB4 to reset.

*Special Settings For F Series JB4 EWG v14+
************************************************** ************************
Note these change by firmware version and the list below applies only to v14+ firmware. There may be some features not active in PWG integrated firmware yet.
Future Use D:
bit0 - Disable in dash BC button controls
bit1 - Alternative in dash BC F10 compatibility mode
bit2 - Disable oil temp warmup protection -- full boost target even when oil temps < 160F
bit3 - Disable wastegate/FF adaption learning for diagnostic purposes
bit4 - Disable startup gauge sweep
bit5 - Test Duty Bias Learning Algorithm
bit6 - Vehicle is equipped with a back end flash map
bit7 - Slow down CANbus sample rate - required for some vehicles with older software
FutureUseA: Negative offset to dutycycle via EWG connector to correct for over boost conditions when PWM is low
Map6: Values of less than 10psi under boost 1500rpm will cause map6 to act as an additive rather than absolute map

OBDII Firmware Wheel Controls and Map Switching In Dash:
In dash options
Note CANflap and menu system for changing maps, enabling the boost gauge, etc, now use exclusively the BC button. These commands are active for F series dash types, but not yet supported for G series fully digital dashes.

Toggle between flap open, flap closed, and OEM operation, by pressing the button for 2 seconds and letting go. The left blinker will flash for valve open, right blinker for valve closed, and both blinkers for OEM operation. The valve setting is persistent and will remain in effect until you change it. If you hold the button too long you'll jump in to the in dash menu system below.
