  • On a car with Clean logs on map 5 what's next? What do we have to do to achieve level 7 or fine tune map 6?

I have the beta software installed, BCS running map 5 and it is VERY strong. Even at rolling starts the tires scream in pain. and yes I want more! I am VERY interested in adding the water injection kit. If its ready Ill pop for it and be a test mule.

Also I was playing around in the app and I figured out that you can custom the gauges by long pressing each one and selecting what you want to changed it to. I decided to check out the E85 one and I was surprised to see 30 on the gauge. Since I did try for E30 I thought this was cool. I noticed as the tank got lower the percentage went Up. with 60 miles to go until empty I was seeing 40 42. I fueled up but added another 1/2 Gallon to my mix. I expected the number to change right away but it didn't. It took a few miles before setting in on 35-37 %.

My question is how accurate is this? Is this displaying the percentage of ethanol in the tank?

Thanks in advance, both for the advice and all the fun I am having with this car!

If you look into your logs under acceleration the ethanol gauge will shoot up to nearly 60 sometimes

        • What are the advantages/gains with the BCM?

          • Hi, Although I can't say whats the difference with or without it ( I purchased mine all together) I can say that I am very impressed with the performance. I have a base a 2018 base and on the preset maps it hits very hard at 3000 rpms and continues to pull. I frequently bark the tires at 1/4 + throttle shifting into second. I am working on a map 6 custom map just for racing and I have been able to get a 4.4 0-60 using a G tech pro to check it. 4.5 and 4.7 are common. Using the Boost control module allows you to control the waste gate duty cycle. I statted with the recommended settings and have been slowly adjusting it. As a whole the package the guys set you up with works, and it works extremely well. If installed your boost levels should rise and have a very nice flat run. As I am learning peak boost does not tell the whole story.
I hope this helps. I would encourage every to add it.

It allows the JB4 to drive the boost solenoid directly and increase boost a little more during spool and top end.

              • Can someone help me. I have been having problems with a popping, possibe misfire with sometimes a blinking cell and sometimes a set cell ONLY DURRING AUTO SHIFTS. I am suspecting its either bounching the rev limitor and cutting spark or fuel or boost is to high during shifts, this is my guess. Logs dont show anything suspicious

Looking at the logs of map 5 and a map 6 setting I was sent I noticed a few things. 1st my redline is 6300rpm yet map 5 is calling for +5 all the way up to 7500rpm. I am being told you should always cut boost during shifts.

Should I call for 0 at 6000 and start tapering boost at 5000?

I just learned about the autoshift boost redux function. What should this be set at ? On other vehicles I have seen it being set at 60 yet others suggested 20-50.

on my logs I am seeing a peak of 22 psi then a drop to a flat 18-19 psi. This seems to be the same on map 5 and a +6 map. Does raising this curve lie in setting the duty cycle or increasing boost in the curve?

                Thanks in advance

                • Update.
I have adjusted my custom map to pull boost at 6000 and up to zero and it appears to have solved the popping problems during autoshifts.
In my opinion MAPS 3, 5 and 7 should be adjusted to cut boost at the shift point. If the redline is different for S cars then two flashes should be made or the autoshift redux should be adjusted.
I am still waiting on advice on what this number should be or al least a starting point with direction to go up or down.

Post the log with the differences so we can try implementing it on a new firmware for others to try out.

                    • Let me know what you guys need in a log with different settings to get some fine tuning for s cars. Like what troy is doing for base models. Willing and able.

                      • Still trying to provide some assistance on further fine tuning this system for the ghibli S platform. Am still running a little rough with E In comparison to pure 93 and can confirm S cars have different cam and injectors amongst a few other differences. The tune cannot be the same for both base and S. I was achieving a consistent 22 ish psi and now am capping out at 19.5 even on e30. Plugs are clean, DP's. Should be making more power as most dyno tuned ghibli cars are making 25 to 26 psi. Will take direction on what settings to test

Boost is a dynamic function based on lots of variables. You will boost less on a colder day vs hotter day because the volume of air is different, same with elevation etc.

Post a log if you're having issues with ethanol, you might need to bring the content down.

                          • Good evening folks. Glad to be hear as well. Look, I just got my Ghibli SQ4 and am new to a turbo vehicle. With that being said, I have installed the JB4 tune but can only use option 1 because only have 91 octane and i have no E30 or E85 available to me. Anyway are there any basic and advanced users guides for this tuner? I have zero knowledge of tuning. Any help would be appreciated. Best Regards...

                            • On the map side you can run map2 on 93 octane.
