  • GM 2.0T Support?

Think you can work something up for the GM 2.0T Ecotec Terry? They use it in a bunch of different vehicles. We have about 17 months left on the Equinox's lease, so a piggyback would be better than a flash like the Trifecta tune. Plus, it should be virtually identical to the base 1.5T and the Silverados 2.7T.

Do you have photos of the MAP sensors and engine bay? If we can identify the electronics one of our existing hardware systems may be compatible making for quick development!

I’ll get you pics tomorrow. Just gotta figure out what sensor is what.

EDIT: Did a search on the web, and the Boost Pressure sensor, which is believe is what they use instead of a TMAP, is the same as the Z06s.

      The MAP is not.

Hoping to get the truck back tomorrow and finally get this installed. Its been at the dealer all week. How long does it take to find a suspension creak and check the oil pan for a leak?

They have a TSB titled "Identifying Non-GM (Aftermarket) Engine Calibrations for Gasoline Engines Using Tech 2 or GDS 2 (U.S. and Canada)". Thats why I prefer this to a Flash.

Sent you an email Payam. Threw an immediate Check Engine, P0236, which is a Boost sensor code. Also getting nothing through the OBD2. All the gauges are are reading 0. I am able to change Maps, and that gauge changes though, so it is hooked up right.

The code is NOT clearable. It says it was erased, but when you check again it’s still there. I’m bringing it back to the dealer on Wednesday in case the sensor is actually bad.

Sorry about the delay guys. I reinstalled it, and same issue, immediate CEL, no readings through the OBD port besides the Map the JB4 is set for. Cleared everything out, was determined to get all three connectors installed instead of just the two we were checking with, but I can’t get this damn connector off the MAP sensor. There’s like no clip on it, unless it’s underneath. Any ideas how to get it back off? I got it off once with a screwdriver, but it’s not moving anymore.

EDIT: Got it off. The connector on the JB4 you sent me doesn't fit this MAP. I ordered a spare sensor, so we'll see what the exact issue is. Should be here Friday or sooner. Probably Wednesday knowing USPS.

Any update on those connectors Payam? If you can't get the ones with the right keys, I can grind the ones I have with my Dremel.

Okay guys a couple of logs. They aren't great since theres no way to hold a gear, so it pretty much just driving around with a couple of WOT blasts. GM parameters must be different because a lot of the stuff didn't populate.

This is Map 0 and Map 1. 2018 Chevy Equinox, 2.0T, 9 speed, FWD. Only mod is a K&N drop in.

For the logs needs to be a consistent set. Like 4th gear 1500rpm to redline, map0, and again on map1. Let app combine runs in one log.

Thats the problem. Theres no way to make it hold a gear. No manual gate, and when you pick the L selector it will use any gear below the number you pick, so if I put it in L4, it'll use 1, 2, 3 and 4. GM really screwed this one up.

Annoying! Then just 20-90mph or something consistent, 100% gas pedal.

Now its throwing codes on every cold start. Tells me reduced power, and the codes are 0236 and 2227, both come up No Description Found.

I looked them up, and P0236 is Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance, and P2227 is Barometric Sensor Circuit Range/Performance.

So the 2 sensors we tapped into are throwing codes. When you clear them it runs fine, until the next start when it happens again. They WILL NOT auto clear. I backended the app to allow passive deletes and they still come up.

Is it possible that GM is running tighter parameters so that these can't be piggybacked?

And here are the logs you asked for. I think they combined, so both should be there. Was able to get 20-75mph legally, so thats what I did. Goes through like 3 or 4 gears though to get there.

You probably need a couple updates to get the JB4 booting up faster like the newer Fords do.

It's not really practical for me to do development support on the forum (I won't be able to check this thread daily) so best to just email me the logs and details. [email protected]

Oh, by the way, it works the same way on the 1.5T. I have a Malibu rental with the 1.5T and had to try. Still throws a CEL that disappears. Its got a CVT, so I'm kinda afraid to push it.

You'll need one of each then. The Boost sensor isn't the same. The 2.0L has 4 pins and the 1.5L only 3 (and I believe is the same as the MAP sensor). I had to remove the pins from the harness and jerry rig the connections to get it to work. The MAP sensor is the same between motors.

                                      BPS/MAP Pinouts
4 pin - Boost Pressure Sensor
                                      1 - BPS Signal
                                      2 - +5V
                                      3 - Unused
                                      4 - Ground

                                      3 pin - MAPs
                                      A - Ground
                                      B - Signal
