If it says update complete then its loaded. If it fails the load the car wont idle at all.

I sent you a email in regard to the code reading. The water temp issue does not relate to the JB4. Once you can read the codes send them over and work via email.

    • Finally getting around to installing my JB4 into my B9.5 S5 today. I intend on keeping the car stock (other than the JB4).

With that, curious if I should bother installing the BCM plug? Any benefits in doing so? Or risks if not? Also, I assume the ground wire still needs to be connected regardless of the BCM install?

      Thanks.

Some customers report faster spool so wont hurt to fit it. Terry has covered the plugging in of it in this video: https://youtu.be/bNP1cy-QOi8

Thanks. Fitting it was a breeze. Overall the entire install was simple and straightforward (outside of running the OBD through the firewall).

One more question. Which Map would be the best for my application (stock B9.5 S5 Sportback w/91 Octane).

          Thanks again.

Map 2 is the recommended map for 91.

            • Running map 5 on S4 B9.5 and only seeing 4.0s to 60.

              I run 5 gallons e85
              Mid Muffler and resonator removed.
              Los Angeles

What are good conservative map 6 settings that I can use without logging? (Haven't been able to log yet since I am using laptop.

You could possibly be spinning on the launch and loosing time. Log it and email logs to me at [email protected] and I can see if it can be improved.

                • Hi everyone
I am running map5 (Audi RS5) and. noticed that after a launch control the shifting between first and second gear is not so fast as it should be. Like some kind of torque reducing is happening

Should i reduce the boost in the first gear? Or this should not happen

0-61mph takes 3,46 sek (0-100kmh). But i think it could go faster. Thanks in advance

The time is pretty good relative to traction. It could be catching some wheelspin and reducing first might help. Try make boost cut 1st value 2 and see if it improves the shift. The value entered is how many psi it will cut in the gear.

                    • Hi George! I've had my JB4 installed on my B9 S5 for nearly a year now. It's been great.

I've used map 5 with an E85 mix on 93 a handful of times.

One thing I've always wondered is, can I change from map 5 to map 3 (or any lower map) when I still have the E85 blend in my tank? Will this negatively affect anything?

When running on map 5 with E85 blend, I've always felt that I need to run the tank until nearly empty, and THEN fill up fully on 93 and then immediately switch to a lower map. Is this the case? Or am I assuming wrong?

                        Hi,

When going down maps it will run fine in any map even stock with a blend in it.

                        • Anyone know where I can source a the locking clip for the OEM fuel pressure sensor right below the high pressure fuel pump? When I was disconnecting it recently, the red locking clip shot out and I wasn't able to find it. It's a 3 pin plug that isn't shaped like a D, and I'm having no luck even finding a pigtail replacement for it. Pretty sure the wires are purple / blue on that one. It still clips in fine and is secure, I just would rather have the locking tab there in case I go in for service under warranty.

                            Hi,

The only option is to order the plug from the dealer. Other option is to grab the part number off the plug and order it from somewhere like ECS.

Happy holidays everyone, just logged a map 5 pull 3-4 gear as shown in the informative video.

                              61 Degrees F
Almost full tank, 5 gallons e85 rest is 91
Mid muffler and dual resonator delete

                              Uphill slightly

Want to run map 6 as soon as possible and wanted to know the right settings to put in.

Just installed JB4 to Macan GTS 2021 2.9 375 hp.
On a map 3, I am seeing boost of 1.15 Bar, using application on my iPhone.
                                Is this ok?

Run some third gear logs and send to [email protected]. We can go higher on the GTS. When sending them through let me know the octane fuel you use.

                                          Hi,

The same guide that is on our site here can be used. https://www.n54tech.com/instructions...stallguide.pdf
On the Q8 the Boost sensor and TMAP connection differ. Some users could not get to the TMAP and had to go via the wheel lining although others had no issues.

The phone kit installs directly to the circuit board. Below are the directions. Note the app is sold separately by the developer and is called JB4 Mobile.

It seems many of the posts in this forum are for the S4. Is anyone able to share typical HP and 0-60 gains for the RS5 on 93 octane? Thanks in advance!

                                                  • Just finished installing my JB4 in my '21 S4. Hadn't seen anyone else post a mounting solution I liked, so I thought I would post mine. Works great for me. Initially, I located the position on the underside of the access flap that would allow the unit and wiring to clear all the obstructions by using adhesive hook-and-loop tape on the flap and the JB4 and holding the unit roughly in place while lowering the flap until the velcro grabbed, then stuck it pretty good against the velcro and marked the two places I wanted the screws to go. I used rubber washer just because I had them and it would be water-proof. I used doubled nuts and lock-washers on the underside to avoid loosening with vibration.

On right hand drive cars we are pushing them even further across. Seems to be a very dry spot as well.

                                                      • I’m installing a Group7 JB4 in my 2021 B9.5 SQ5 and only use 93 octane and Map 3.

So I don’t have to actually connect either the fuel pressure sensor or the BCM modules? It’s just the TMAP and MAP sensors? E85 is rare out here so I have no plans to do any fuel mixing.

Yes, both connections are optional for map 3.

                                                            • I had to replace the connector for the fuel pressure sensor (and promptly dropped the new connector down into the bowels of the engine bay and can't get to it at the moment...) but I have it otherwise connected and I'm up and running on Map3.

Holy ****. This thing is properly quick now.

Just like the JB1 on my Golf R, this is how it should be from the factory.

I have a RocEuro intake to install. Will the JB4 automatically take advantage of the extra air once that's installed or will I need to make some adjustments?

And, will everything run as normal?

I ordered this for my SQ5 in January and finally installed it last week after being on summer tires for a few.

I’ve gone though many threads, but would like some input on a few things:

                                                                    1. I have the metal JB4 enclosure with the Bluetooth dongle that screws into the base inside the case. I followed the video recommended instructions to install this including tip tying the Bluetooth dongle to the outside of the metal enclosure. I looked at some other videos online and on recommendation of a random guy, put the entire unit in a ziploc bag. It looks like that was a bad move as it actually trapped some water and temporarily screwed up the bluetooth (seems ok now after it dried out).

What do people do here to make sure this works well over time?

                                                                    2. I read here over and over again, “send George logs” to get the OK go to a higher map or a custom map if I want to push it more just on 93 (probably what makes the most sense for me).

What am I supposed to be logging here? Should I set the app to a certain throttle response to active logs, or should I just be driving hard for a while with “start logging enabled”.

                                                                    3. I don’t want to go nuts with modifications as my 2021 sq5 is still under warranty. That being said, if I get a few things, would an intercooler and intake be good first steps to both increase horsepower and help with engine longevity?

I have the bag zipped as closed as possible with it all zip-tied to a metal bracket in there. It’s been there for a few months now and no issues with water collecting in the bag.

We need to see logs of this though to make sure all is good. When logging the JB4 logs and the app is already set to where it should be in terms of throttle % etc

Intercooler is the most beneficial mod on this model. Not sure how the dealer will handle it though in terms of warranty.

It’s very intermittent with its ability to connect. I think (but am not 100% certain) that it has something to do with me not manually disconnecting on the app prior to leaving the car.

Is there any option to have it do that, or is there something else I should be looking into?

It’s very intermittent with its ability to connect. I think (but am not 100% certain) that it has something to do with me not manually disconnecting on the app prior to leaving the car.

Is there any option to have it do that, or is there something else I should be looking into?
Disconnecting or not manually will not effect the range of the bluetooth module. Some phone covers make connection worse. Also try point the actual device towards the inside of the cabin.

                                                                            Comment

                                                                            • Right. I’ve been testing it under a ton of circumstances. When it freezes continuously at awaiting handshake i’ve opened the hood and placed my phone directly next to the module. It still ends up doing it.

Does the unit not always drop the connection or something, say for instance if I leave the car for a bit and come back?

What would be the next troubleshooting steps? The MMI/Audicar play have been on every time and it’s worked with it on. It’s also NOT worked with those off.

AWE Tuning AirGate Carbon Fiber Intake
                                                                                  ARMYTRIX Highflow Performance Race ********
VR Tuned ECU Tuning Box Kit V1

I had the car dyno'd and it put down 450awhp which I'm very happy with but it keeps throwing a cell cause of the HFC which I can clear but always comes back. I'm bought myself the JB4 cause there's no custom tuning with the one I have but with the JB4 I like the ability to switch tunes on the fly and also want to go to E85 but have a couple questions on it. But first I'm curious if there's a way to prevent the cell from going on with the JB4? Be great if there was. Right now I'm swapping the ********* out as I failed my inspection because of the ready lights and would like to keep them as they do make the exhause sound mean
                                                                                  .
So with that from what I've been reading with 93oct gas I set it for Map 3, But for Map4 people say to add 5 gals of E85 on fillup, when I fill up it onliy takes 11 gals. Is this correct or is there a ration to go by? Also would I need a ORT High pressure fuel pump if going with the E85 blend or if it helps with it. Or would that be needed for straight E85 which I would like to go with as it's plentiful here. And does JB4 have a tune for that which I'm not sure of.

I also acquired a Wagner Competition Intercooler/Radiator Kit which I'll put in a some point to help with AIT temps.

Thanks for letting me join this JB4 group as I find it very helpfull

                                                                                  Appreciated
