  • CEL and 3 codes not long after installing JB4. May be coincidental.

Hi. This may just be coincidental timing, but I thought I'd ask if anyone has run into this before.

I recently installed a new Group 7 JB4 in our 2018 Audi S5. We only fuel the car with 93 octane as the stations around us only offer 87/89/93. For the first couple days everything was smooth sailing. Then while driving around on both MAP-0 and MAP-3, we started getting a dash warning of “Drive system malfunction: Please contact service.” It would go away for a while when you shut off the car and restart it, and there was no specific pattern to when it would show itself. Eventually the check engine light was set and I currently see three codes stored. All the connections feel tight, and the mobile app shows the JB4 is reading OBD2 data. The JB4 is flashed with the most recent non-beta build found in the app.

    The codes are…

    P8A4B
    P6E33
    P5E7E

The car feels fine and isn’t acting out of the ordinary, but wanted to see if anyone has hit something similar. I need to find my other OBD2 tool and see if it will decipher the codes as so far I'm not finding references to them.

    Thank you.
