  • What happend if the OBD2 unpluged?

    Hello,
i'm new to the forum and I'm from Germany, so excuse my bad English. I drive a Skoda Octavia MK3 RS Gen. 3 EA888 with 220 hp and want to install my new JB4 with Bluetooth. The state specifies that a technical inspection (TÜV) must be carried out every 2 years. The exhaust gas values are also read out and checked via OBD2. The errors are also read out via OBD2 during the regular inspection at the specialist dealer. What happens if I unplug the OBD2 connector with JB4 installed. If the vehicle is shut down. Does it work normally like MAP0 or do you have to remove the complete JB4 before the inspection?

On this model without the OBD signal the JB4 will be dormant so you can unplug and do the inspection and then plug it back in again. Fine to drive without it in as well.

Okay, thank you for the quick answer. So all cables can remain connected?
Do I have to activate a specific map before I pull the OBD2 connector?
In other forums you can read that the JB4 then runs on MAP1 by default.

The rest of the cables can remain connected
On this model on a 60/88/5 firmware the JB4 wont do anything and remain dormant regardless of map selected.

Perfect, it would be a problem if the specified emission values are no longer achieved because Map1 is preset. Then I'll lose my license to operate.
