Would the JB4 be able to adjust on the fly for potential knock? Im finishing up a custom short ram this weeked, just waiting for the MAF flange to be delivered. There's a slight size increase over the stock intake piping diameter where the MAF sensor will be located.

I just ordered my JB4 for the MDX Type S and I am looking forward to using it.

Curious, in every log I have seen the IAT's are very flat, barely moving. Is this correctly recording?

It would seem that the cooling is quite excellent on these powerplants.

no reason for IATs to bounce around a lot unless you're sitting at a red light, then it'll probably climb a tad. I took my stock air box out and my IATs went up about 8-10 degrees since I'm pulling much more engine bay air in. I'm in the process of fabricating a cool air box for it.

I am talking about during a pull, and yes IAT's should increase as you go through each pull at full throttle and then cool back down. I guess the answer is that the IAT being shown in the logs is not post intercooler since it never changes.

IAT at the air intake is useless information, as what you want to know is the air temperature going into the engine.

Still interested to know if anyone knows how the stock intercooler is performing for JB4 map 2 or 3.

i dont know, I'd think IATs would stay consistent regardless of if you're making a pull or not. maybe a slight increase from the turbo heat but the intercooler would cool faster as more air is pushed through it on the ambient side.

I think it gets its temp reading fromt the MAF sensor which is pre turbo/intercooler.

Thats not what I am saying, yes IAT at the intake stays constant but it is not telling you anything more than the temperature outdoors.

what you need to know on turbo cars is the IAT to the engine, post turbo and post intercooler. On my Mk7 GTI, R, and S5 the IAT reading on the JB4 spit out this temperature.

I don't know if there's a sensor post intercooler that the JB4 can grab a signal off of, unless the MAP sensor can do that. I havent taken the TLX one off to know if there's a thermistor in one.

We always try to grab charge air temperature but the ECU doesn't always make that easy. Next time we have a TLX in the office we'll double check that.

I've had my Type S for about 2 weeks now and itching to start my build. Question - Does the JB4, or is there a setting, to shut off the dang VCM? The car is my daily, so when in "comfort", i dont want the VCM always kicking in and out.
