Terry can you take a look at revising maps for latest gen n63tu3, many people are getting less hp using map 2 without meth or race fuel, and using a e20/e30 mix is causing lean issues at 6 psi,

Map2 is the go-to E30 map. Not sure what you mean by "less hp".

I’m not sure if hp/trq translate to 60-130 times but on map 2, I cannot beat my best times that I got on custom map 6 settings and that’s with e30

The cars are slower. A bunch of us found that Map 2 was slower than Map 1, even with 93 based E30. Its not enough octane, timing suffers badly.

That’s exactly what I’m saying countless draggys 60-130 prove slower times on map 2 with e20-e30 mix’s tank after tank

Wasn't the case in our testing. Post up a 60-130 log on map1 and map2 on the same fuel mix if you want me to look in to it further.

He’ll have to do that. I don’t have the 550 anymore. I’m stuck in B58 land now, with 140 less hp. But hey, at least it gets double the fuel economy.

I'll try to get one today. On my 22 M50i, it did not like map 6 at all on 93 or e30. Throttle closure and timing around 4,5K - 5K. I've got another round of e30 in today and will give it another run

2022 M550 map 6 log -
07-12-2022, 11:24 AM
Terry, can you look at this log of a map 6 I put together and see what adjustments might need to be made, looks like the throttle is closing quite often.
Thanks in advance.

How does your M50i feel on Map1? Do you feel any torque bump? Is the vehicle noticeably stronger/faster?

Your timing is really low, and why don’t you have all the cylinders checked 1-6 drop the psi to 5 for all rpm and relog

Thanks Antec800. I’ll adjust all rpm to 5 psi and see if that gets the timing back up. Post a new log after. I’m new to the JB4 but understand a little about tuning, when you say why don’t you have all the cylinders checked 1-6 what are you referring to?

I don’t have access rn to get the exact parameter names but I think it’s called ign see if it’s added to your logging screen

Found it, thanks
Phaser, map 1 does feel like a pretty good bump over stock, it pulls pretty hard, I feel like a well dialed in map 6 is even better. Map 2 just doesn’t seem to want to cooperate, might need colder plugs or E30, but on 93 octane timing is pulled up top. Map 6 set at 5 psi across all rpm seems to be the best so far ( thanks Antec800) on my 550 same motor as yours. Just like you said 4-6000 seems to pull timing on map 2. I think 5lbs is about where this motor is happy without E30.
Hopefully Terry will chime in with his knowledge.

Thanks much for that appraisal. I was thinking of just using the JB4 on Map1 without the blue tooth connection which would surely raise my technology anxiety level. Now I'm thinking I should do the full set up and hopefully have all that flexibility.
Does setting Map 6 to 5 psi across the board require alot of computer skills. I am concerned that my Samsung 6 may not be compatible with the JB4.

Do you have the OBD plugged in? There is a lot of boost and hardly any timing on your logs. Stock, my car is generally asking for between 12-14psi peak psi @ 5500rpm, you are nearly doubling that! I would not be comfortable at that boost level for turbo life or EGT. My timing at peak boost is 22-23 degrees, you are hitting 11-12. I would say that the ECU is firefighting.

What are some of the more advanced users doing to help with the short shifts when doing a 1/4mile test 2nd/3rd/4th seem to shift super early around 5500 rpm with or without launch control active

Full traction off helps a bit. Otherwise we are all waiting for XHP to be released for us
