Question Initial map 6 recommendations - 05-12-2022, 09:15 PM
I'm in the process of putting CTS Stage 2 Turbos on my car -2007 335i. I'm FBO except for an intercooler. I have a jb4 with a bef that I've been running on map 5 with stock turbos. From what I read, I need to keep the bef and set up a tune in map 6. Does anyone have any baseline settings for similar turbos? Looking to run 16-17 psi.

I'd upgrade the intercooler before the turbos. The stock one will become heat soaked after a single run, if not before.

After that, you should get some baseline logs using map 1 to see how everything is performing and go from there.

I'm planning to upgrade the intercooler, but I didn't upgrade for power - I upgraded cause it didn't make sense to just replace them when I could upgrade. Mine were rattling and giving me 3100 and 30ff codes. I just wanted to custom tune because I heard it would overboost without it.

That is more a MHD OTS thing with the overboosting.
With JB4 run the appropriate BEF for your fueling and mods and setup using the hybrids instructions
No need to run map 6.
On BETA firmware map 2 is 22 psi lol
Much more than the 16 or so you are after.

Ok, awesome. A lot of the FB groups say ditch the JB4 and go custom, but I like the control. I'm not looking for too much more power.
