Hey guys , wondering if I can get some advice on my single turbo kit . I have a 6266 BB turbo , port injection on the e85 Pi BEF from bms . I’ve been comparing my boost to others with the same turbo or similar and I’ve noticed my boost comes on way further out than most ? I’ve seen people hit about 15 psi at around 3500-3900 rpm’s , where I’m around 3psi . I just didn’t know why or if I have something set up wrong ? Thanks for checking!

I’m no expert so take what I say with a grain of salt

Looking at your log your wastegates only tried to close fully to build boost when you went 100% pedal WOT which was only after 3,300rpm, prior to that they were open with your WGDC near zero when you were cruising and boost around 1-2psi

Do you know what your menu 10 11 12 values are set to?

My options are
10- 4K
11- 500
12 - 2500

Is there any reason why you have menu 11 set to 500?

This is maybe why you car seems to be targeting 0-5psi even when your pedal input is 50-60% from 2,800 to 3,300 rpm

“Pedal input: Menu 11 (0-5000rpm). This determines the gas pedal's impact on the boost target. A value of 0 will target 0psi up to 45% gas pedal input while a value of 5000rpm will target 0psi up to 5% gas pedal input. Regardless of setting full boost will be targeted at 100% gas pedal input. Note that depending on your menu 12 setting you will likely make more than 0psi regardless of this setting at lower gas pedal inputs when under load.”


Maybe try setting menu 11 to 3,000 and do another log see how you go?

That being said though it does seem like even when you go WOT your boost takes awhile to build, I’m chasing a similar slow boost issue

Have you tested your vac lines, boost solenoids and wastegate actuators?

I’ve tested everything minus a exhaust leak test , maybe it might be an Exhuast leak? I also noticed that many ppl including the persons thread I pasted use the 1.0 AR, where mine is a .82 , which makes this even more confusing because the .82 is supposed to spool faster

Anyone know how to test for an exhaust leak? Is it simple as just sticking the smoke machine to one of the tail pipes and plugging the other ?

Nothing changed, your cars trying to make boost your WGDC are maxed at 99 at 2,700 rpm yet still slow spool

Also you realize you are on Map 4 right?

With your set up I’m assuming you have a custom tune, shouldn’t it be Map 3 or 6?

Assuming it’s not something as silly as that


Are you sure you’ve tested your wastegates, Vac lines and boost solenoids?

I’d do the following

1. Go test your rear WG actuator with Vac pump to make sure it’s closing, I’ve read bad ******** installs result in the clip preventing the actuator rod from being able to pull shut on rear turbo
If yours is US LHD you should be able to easily see it close

2. Test Vac canisters again, all Vac lines and boost solenoids

3. Check all hosing on charged side for possible boost leak, check your charge pipe intercooler connections etc

Thanks for the reply ,

The car is single turbo with a single turbo BEF from bms so the maps are totally different than a twin set up, map 4 is 23psi target . As for the canisters I have none as the single kit runs an external wastegate with a mac.

I did boost / vac leak the car tonight , I found 1 leak at the manifold which for sure is not helping and fixed that . I also did the same test on the exhaust and found all 4 of my exhaust clamps are leaking 2 in the middle are VERY bad but shouldn’t effect spool . But I also found a very small leak at the wastegate vband. I tried to tighten it as much as possible but it still leaked a small amount . I’m going to buy 4 clamps and see if I can get my mechanic who installed the kit to get the wastegate leak resolved then I’ll post back and hope to get spooling much faster .
